The Geneseo Endowment for Excellence in Education was formed in 1990 to address a ned for funding to support educational projects beyond existing tax support. The mission of GEEE is to fund projects that complement, enhance, and enrich the educational opportunities and experiences of students in Geneseo Community School District #22.
GEEE receives funding through the generous donations of indidividuals and companies interested in area students recieveing the best possible educational experience. The board of directors of GEEE has established a policy of operating on an endowment basis. This means that all contributions are placed in an endowment fund, and that the earnings from the fund are used to pay for education projects. GEEE has been granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service, and all contributions to GEEE are tax-deductible on federal and state income tax returns.
As a professional who assists individuals with financial and estate planning matters, the GEEE board would like to make you and your clients aware of GEEE and the many worthwhile projects and programs it supports. Should your clients be interested in making a tax-deductible donation to a charitable cause or in naming a not-for-profit organization a s a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, retirement account, or trust, we hop they will consider GEEE.
We have provided several copies of a brochure that further describes the purpose and programs of GEEE. Please feel free to share this information with your clients.
Do not hesitate to contact any of the GEEE board members listed below with questions about the organization or about ways to donate to the GEEE endowment fund. Thank you for your continued support of GEEE.
