The Geneseo Endowment for Excellence in Education, commonly referred to as GEEE, was established in 1990 to support quality education in the Geneseo School district. It has been a very successful organization providing hundreds of thousands of dollars for technology upgrades and providing education enrichment opportunities such as guest speakers, fine arts days, writer workshops, reading and math advancement programs and many more events and programs. These efforts have helped keep Geneseo’s schools in the forefront of providing an excellent education for the students of Geneseo, Atkinson, and parts of Colona.
The citizens and friends of the Geneseo School district have always taken an active role in supporting their schools and making sure that the learning environment is of high quality and always looking to improve. GEEE, in better economic times, grew close to having one million dollars of endowment fund through the years.
The current downturn in the economy has resulted in limited funding opportunities for the schools in the few years. We want to reverse that trend as the economy improves.
Each Board member is making a personal commitment to make a contribution to GEEE this year. As a board, we also want to celebrate years of positive contributions to the education of young people in the Geneseo School District. Therefore, during this year we will be hosting several opportunities to renew and reinvigorate this important endowment for the Geneseo School District.
Thank you again for your support in the past. For those of you that have not recently made contributions to the Geneseo Endowment for Excellence in Education, we ask you to please consider doing so during this year. Contributions may be mailed to GEEE, P.O. Box 211, Geneseo, IL 61254. |
