Advanced Placement and College Credit Courses
ADVANCED PLACEMENT
Advanced Placement courses are college level courses which will provide the student with the option of taking an examination toward the end of the spring semester which could qualify for college credit. The fee for taking tests is approximately $71 per test. A complete course description for these courses is located in the English, math, science, social studies, and foreign language sections of this publication. Close examination of these materials is intended to show that they are offerings which will enrich backgrounds and provide unique challenges not available in other courses. AP exams are offered in different curriculums in which courses are not offered at the high school. Students wishing to take those AP exams without the classroom experience may enquire with their counselor prior to second semester of their senior year. College professors and selected high school teachers from around the country will grade the AP exam. Many colleges and universities grant college level credit based on the AP exam scores.
