Announcements for 02-21-2020

Attention all 7th and 8th grade girls and boys interested in track and field. Another exciting year of track and field is about a month away. Sign ups will be during physical education or health classes. Track and field will begin during the first week of March on Wednesday, March 4th. Please make sure you have a current physical in the nurses office. If you have any questions, please email Coach Ehlert or talk to Coach Gillespie, Coach Mathew, Coach Monier, or Coach Wagner.

Attention 6th graders: Your Wednesday mornings just haven't been the same have they? No NFL pick sheets to fill out. No NFL pick sheets to grade. There's just nothing going on. Well, not anymore. Next Wednesday morning we will begin Contig Club. Everyone is welcome to come. If you want to play "just for fun," all you have to do is show up. If you wish to be competitive and enter a tournament to face your 6th grade peers, you need to turn your name in to Mr. Monier's black wall hanging basket outside of his room by the end of the Monday. The bracket will be made Monday night, it will be posted Tuesday, and on Wednesday we will begin Round 1. Contig Club begins at 7:45. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Monier.

Congratulations to the following American League All-Stars for February:

In Mrs. Gillespie’s homeroom- Brock Marshall & Grant Collins

Student Senate is here to say,
We are having a Food Drive - donate today!
The Food Drive only lasts for a week,
So go to your cabinet and take a peek!
We accept boxes, bags, and cans too,
Bring them in, or the competition you'll lose,
Each item you bring in counts as one point,
Remember your classroom shouldn’t disappoint,
Bring food in, and you will win an ice cream party!
Donate today and help those in need,
They will appreciate your generosity indeed!
The food drive will end February 21. Thank you for your support.

Scholastic Bowl had an exciting competition at Alwood last night. Our 7th grade team put up a good fight but fell slightly short of a victory. Our "all boy" 8th grade team slightly defeated Alwood's "all girl" team. The match was neck to neck throughout, and Geneseo clutched the win at the end.
Great work by all. Rest up those minds--- next week is a big week!!

If you would like to invite your grandpa to the OSP and Builders' Club Grandpa Breakfast before school on March 6, please get your RSVP returned to GMS by this Friday. Invitations can be picked up in the library or from your English teachers. See Mrs. Brucher or Mrs. Reakes if you have any questions.

Congratulations to our Scholastic bowl team for another strong competition last night in Colona. Although the seventh grade team endured their first loss, they competed well against a devious team. Our eighth grade team is bringing home a big win by dominating the match and winning by more than 200 points. Keep up the good work and bring this momentum as we take on Allwood next week.

Students involved in today’s Spelling Bee should report to the Large Group room after announcements.
