Announcements for 05-21-2021

Missing Something? Be sure to check the lost and found by the lunch line in the main hallway before you leave today.

All library books need to be returned today. There are return cubes in each language arts teachers' room or you can drop the books off in the library.

Attention all students for this announcement from the nurse: current 6th and 7th graders will need a sports physical to participate in 7th and 8th grade sports next year. This must be turned in to the school nurse or coach prior to participation in practices or games, even during the summer. All current 8th grade students will need a school physical and dental exam for 9th grade this fall. The physical must be turned in to the school nurse before or on the first day of school. Please ask your parents to schedule your appointments ASAP this summer, and send in the forms to the appropriate school.

Attention current 6th and 7th graders: If you are interested in running on the cross country team next fall, please fill out the Google Form posted on your PE Google Classroom. The cross country season begins in early August, so we need your names and contact information now so that we can send you details about summer fun runs and the beginning of the season.

Volleyball Tryouts for the fall season will be on Wednesday and Thursday, August 11th and 12th.
Please sign up on your PE google classroom if interested. See Ms. Frerichs for a tryout handout with additional information.

Attention 6th, and 7th grade boys and girls. Hammond-Henry Hospital is excited to be providing Geneseo Middle School student/athletes with summer speed, agility, strength and conditioning programs. Our goal with this program is to improve athletic performance as well as decrease your chances for injury. Student-athletes can expect to see improvements in first step quickness, jumping ability, strength, speed, agility, explosive power, conditioning and overall improvement in movement efficiency. The summer Summit sessions will begin Wednesday, June 2nd. Registration forms can be picked up by the front office.

The GMS track and field teams had a fantastic outing at the IESA Sectional meet in Sycamore on Saturday.
The 7th grade girls team and 8th grade girls team are both Sectional Champions! The 7th grade boys team and the 8th grade boys teams both earned 4th place.
The following students placed first in one or more events:
Lizzie Rapps, Ava DeSplinter, Madison Reade, Nina Schmedding, Katy Wilson, Kameryn Keegan, Sedonie Scheider, Greta Bolme, Eliana Barickman, Allison Reade, Annie Maxwell, Beth Mroz, Jeslen Rink, Lily Taylor, Lauren Powell, Bella Curcuru, Elanor DeBlieck, Addi Snodgrass, Jenny Parsons, Brody Clementz, Jackson McAvoy and Joseph Venneberg.
Congratulations to all our athletes on a great season. ALL track athletes should meet in the gym after school today until 3:30 to get ribbons, turn in uniforms and spikes, and take a team picture. Please see a coach if you have any questions."

Announcements for 05-14-2021

Students - If you were issued a Chromebook to use at home, here are the dates they must be returned:
6th grade - Tuesday, May 18th before school in the Library and Large Group Room
7th grade - Thursday, May 20th before school in the Library and Large Group Room
8th Grade - Thursday, May 20th before school in the Gym
Please remember to bring your charger also.
